Image Blending on GIMP

Example of my image blending. I am using my son's photo.
I'm not an expert Gimper, but I wanna share to others what I learned on Gimp by doing some experiments and playing around Gimp. Now, I'm going to show you step by steps on how to blend an image on Gimp. But, before anything else you need to have two or three images that have the same background, and the same size.(But, if you want to use images with different backgrounds it's your choice).

  1. First of all, be sure you downloaded Gimp 2.6
  2. Once Gimp 2.6 is downloaded to your pc, now, it's time to blend an image.
  3. Open Gimp.
  4. Click "File" - "Open" (choose and image from your computer).
  5. If your first image is ready, now let's add another image by simply clicking "File" again and then click "Open".
  6. Now, go to you first image. Under "Image' click "Flatten Image".
  7. Go to your second image. Under " Edit", click "Copy"
  8. Go back to your first image window, right click on it, click "Edit" - "Paste".
  9. And now, your second image is actually pasted on your first or original image background.
  10. To move the image on the screen, go to your "Toolbox" and click on the "Move Tool" to move and adjust the second image.
  11. In your "Toolbox", click  the "Eraser Tool" to erase the second image background. Then choose an eraser brush by clicking on the "Brush" choose the solid big round brush, you can adjust the size of the brush by sliding on the "Scale".
  12. As you delete the unimportant background on your second image you can use the "Move Tool" by moving your image until your satisfied with the result.
  13. To get a better view on erasing just go to your image window, you can see at the bottom of the screen like 25% or something, click on the arrow and choose 100% or 200% zoom to get a good result in erasing unimportant image or background. you can always zoom in or zoom out.
  14. When your satisfied with you work, and you wanna save it. Just go to "File" - "Save as".
  15. And you're done!
           I hope this really helps.
